Mandy El-Sayegh was born in Malaysia in 1985 and moved to London to study first at the Westminster and then at the Royal College of Art. Cite Your Sources is her British debut solo show at the Chisenhale Gallery, the exhibition is on until the 9th of June. Chisenhale Gallery since the e90’s has given the name to great artists such as Rachel Whiteread and Wolfgang Tillmans.

The title of the exhibition has a double meaning, it's a quote of El-Sayegh 's tutor at the RCA and both connected to the sources of her research, a mix of personal, cultural, political that create a density of layers in her work.

Her practice is the result of a deep relation with the procedure of learning and understanding, and the process of subjectivity. Her multidimensional works are created by imaginary, linguistic material and solid materials. The layers aim to give to the social chaos in which we are immersed nowadays.
